How to pack for your first downwinder

How to pack for your first downwinder

Downwinders mean a new pousada most nights and a support car that can only carry so much — so the first skill is packing light without leaving anything important behind.

Stick to one board, one or two kite sizes for the wind range you're told to expect, a compact harness, and quick-dry clothing. Reef boots and a rash vest earn their space every single day.

Leave the rest at home. Our guides carry spares of the essentials (pumps, lines, repair kits) in the support car, so you don't need to double up — just bring what's personal to you.
