The Emotions Route by kite

The Rota das Emoções, or Emotions Route, is the classic journey across three Brazilian states: Ceará, Piauí and Maranhão. Most travellers do it by 4x4. We do it by kite, as the Jericoacoara to Atins half of our Advanced Downwinder.

Six days, six legs: Jericoacoara to Tatajuba, Tatajuba to Maceió, Maceió to Barra Grande, Barra Grande to the Parnaíba Delta, the Delta to Arpoador, and Arpoador to Atins. The water changes every day, from small waves to river-mouth flats and lagoon-like water at Arpoador.

This route is for riders who are comfortable holding long legs day after day. Our driver has run car support on the Rota das Emoções for eight years and follows the group the whole way.
