Flying with kit, stress-free

Flying with kit, stress-free

Most airlines treat kite and board bags as standard sports equipment — but allowances vary a lot, so check your specific airline's sports-gear policy before you fly, especially for connecting flights.

Deflate your kites fully, pad the bar and lines, and pack boots and harness inside the board bag to save weight elsewhere. A luggage strap or two saves a lot of stress at the carousel.

Keep anything irreplaceable — your harness, favourite fins, travel documents — in your carry-on. Everything else can be replaced; your trip can't wait for lost luggage.
