Itinerary · Jericoacoara to Barra Grande, Ceará, Brazil
The route
A three-day, three-night step up along the same coast, from Jericoacoara to Barra Grande — longer legs each day, still on the same forgiving, side-onshore wind. Same support as our 2-day trip: a car with a professional driver who follows behind as backup, ready to assist whenever you need it. The service includes: a private guide on the water with a briefing and coaching throughout, a driver who follows the whole way with personal assistance, and a medium/high-quality hotel with breakfast included for each of the three nights. Price depends on the time of the season, the number of people on the downwind and the package you choose. Contact us for a quote.
Day by day
Starting from Jericoacoara, the first day opens with incredible views and flat water with small waves until we reach Guriú, a lagoon spot where beginners and advanced riders gather, before the beautiful stretch onward to Tatajuba.
An adventure along a wild and untouched coastline — a mix of slightly choppy flats and beautiful wave sections. Arrival at Maceió's secluded beach and authentic fisherman's town.
The trip's biggest day — flat sections mixed with some choppy waves around the estuary, passing by lovely Curimãs, a remote fishing village, before finishing in Barra Grande, a lively village with bars and restaurants to celebrate in.
When to go
The trade winds blow steady and strong along this coast from July through December, with the most reliable conditions between August and November — the best window to book any of our downwinders.
Daily rhythm
Mornings start gently at the pousada with a proper, healthy breakfast — fuel for the riding ahead.
Over coffee, your guide talks you through the day's route, the wind forecast and what to expect along the way.
Wind at your back, coastline ahead — you ride from spot to spot with your guide alongside you the whole way.
Our support vehicle follows along the coast, ready for a water stop, snacks or a longer break whenever needed.
Reaching the day's finish line calls for a celebratory drink — you've earned it.
Settle into a new town and a new pousada, freshen up and take a moment to breathe.
The evening is yours — dinner, a wander, and an early night. Tomorrow, the wind calls again.
