A dune-wrapped village at the heart of the coast — every one of our routes passes through.
The spot
Jericoacoara is a former fishing village at the end of the paved road, wrapped in dunes, with sand streets, simple pousadas and a sunset dune that fills up every evening. On this coast it is the hinge point everything else is measured from.
Most kiting happens just upwind at Preá, the area's main kite beach, and downwind at the Guriú lagoon, where beginners and advanced riders share flat water. From here the coast runs on to Tatajuba and beyond.
Getting there
Fly to Jericoacoara airport (JJD), about 1 hour from the village, or drive from Fortaleza in roughly 4.5 to 5 hours. The last stretch crosses sand and is done by 4x4.
Nearby spots
Guriú. A lagoon spot just downwind of Jericoacoara where beginners and advanced riders share flat water. Our Preá to Guriú route (30 km) ends here.
