A lagoon behind the dunes, at the end of our one-day and two-day downwinders.
The spot
Tatajuba is a small village west of Jericoacoara, set between high dunes and a lagoon. There is little here beyond a few pousadas and beach huts, which is exactly why riders like to finish the day in it.
It is the finish line of two one-day routes, Jericoacoara to Tatajuba (25 km) and Preá to Tatajuba (40 km), and of our two-day downwinder. On the longer rides toward Barra Grande and Atins it is the first stop.
Getting there
From Jericoacoara, about 1 hour by 4x4 or buggy along the beach, with a raft crossing at the Guriú river.
